Depend

I wasted my youth in your basement.
We were the best of friends.
Started a band with Mitch,
but we were just kids.
We all knew nothing would come of it.
Covering The Who, we probably sounded shit.
Wasted days and summer hours,
wish I could go back to them.
Things were simpler back then.
Find me again.
Before I lose my patience,
before you lose yourself.
Call me a friend.
Somethings won't last forever,
somethings will just get worn out.
Let's make amends.
I hope you know I mean this,
we can work it all out.
I know you depend,
on all the drugs you're doing.
Please don't kill yourself.
We haven't talked in months now.
I'll admit that's my fault.
Life became too much,
let it fall apart.
Instead of turning to,
my oldest friend.
Sometimes I think I'm in too deep now
to pick up my phone and call you again.
You've got a band and you're touring with them.
It's all that I've wanted for you since 2010.
I hope you're well, my friend.

Let Down

I like being home alone unless it's dark out
'Cause that's when I get too honest with myself.
Think I'll put on my shoes and go for a walk now
I'll listen to The Wonder Years and try to clear my mind out.
Nobody here is worried about being themselves.
They just want to be popular, they're all sell outs.
Stop tweeting unoriginal shit you burn outs.
Being nice isn't something to tell the world about.
Fuck this place, fuck this town, fuck this room that I'm stuck in.
Fuck the past, fuck your friends that all left and didn't come back again.
Raise your hands to the sky and remind yourself why you held on so long.
Everything will be fine, just give it some time and hold on.
Sometimes I feel like such a let down.
'Cause most of my time is spent in my room playing Warcraft now.
And all of my friends are like, "dude, let's go hang out."
And I say, "nah that's fine, maybe next time!"
Nobody here is ever gonna be a winner.
We're too caught up on our Facebook friends or our followers on Twitter.
All you have is a god complex as a sinner.
Good luck talking about it at family dinner.
I know you're feeling down.
And you miss having me around.
But don't feel so blue.
The worlds not out to get you.
And I know it's been so hard.
But tell me that you'll hold on.
I'm getting kind of used to being a let down.
And I'm done with all the douchebags and pricks in this town.
I think I'll put on my shoes and go for that walk now.
I'll pack up all of my things and I'll leave in the morning.
